Athlete Spotlight: Bryce Dunnigan

As a strength and conditioning coach, it is always rewarding to see your athletes succeed, especially when they put in the hard work and dedication to reach their goals. Bryce Dunnigan is one such client who has made remarkable strides in his career, and I am proud to have played a part in his success.

Bryce had an outstanding season in 2022-23, playing as a goalie for the Fort Wayne team in the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL). In 22 regular season games, he recorded 16 wins, 4 regulation losses, and 2 overtime losses, leading his team to victory in the Midwest East Division. Bryce finished the season with a save percentage of 90.3% and a goals against average of 2.89, solidifying his position as a top goalie in the league.

In November and December, the Fort Wayne team went on a 15-game winning streak, with Bryce playing a crucial role in eight of those wins. He helped his team beat some of the top teams in the league, including Toledo Cherokee, Metro Jets, and Minnesota Moose, all of which appeared at the national tournament. Bryce's impressive performances earned him the prestigious title of Midwest East Division's Goalie of the Month for December.

For the first time in Fort Wayne's history, the team made it to the USPHL National Tournament, where 18 of the top teams in the league compete for the league championship. Bryce played in two seeding games and two single elimination games, with his team eventually losing 3-2 in overtime against the top-seeded team. Despite the loss, Bryce's performance at the tournament was exceptional, recording a save percentage of 94.4% and a goals against average of 1.96.

As Bryce's strength and conditioning coach, I am proud to have been a part of his journey. We trained TheRypenWay, a specialized program that focuses on improving athletes' physical and mental strength, endurance, and agility. Bryce's hard work, dedication, and commitment to the program have paid off, and I am confident that he will continue to achieve great things in his career.

Bryce's accomplishments in the 2022-23 season are a testament to his hard work and will to get better, and I am honored to have played a role in his success. I look forward to continuing to work with him and helping him achieve even greater heights in his career.

Congratulations, Bryce, on an outstanding season!
